The goal of this workshop is a face-to-face discussion with the community about the changes for the medium-term roadmap. We are aiming for a dynamic session where you can share your wildest ideas about the next major release; new formats, base technologies, API changes, additional components…
The session will open with some of the ideas that the OpenNebula Systems team has identified as a result of previous discussions with the community, and then an open discussion will follow. Different ideas/features will be studied and considered for their incorporation into the 6.0 roadmap.
To facilitate the discussion, you can prepare 3 simple slides to present your ideas:
- Problem Description: What problem is this blueprint addressing? Include a detailed description of the problem...
- Use Case: What use cases does this address? Who will benefit from this feature (end-users, admins, developers, integrators...)? Which workflows will be affected by this change?...
- Technology Changes (optional): What new objects, database tables, or schemas are going to be needed? Are there any API changes needed?...
Feature ideas can be proposed on-the-fly in the session, but you are encouraged to send your idea (just a line, will do) beforehand so we can prepare a feature discussion list before the session. Please send your ideas or any other suggestions for the session to events@opennebula.systems, identifying the “Towards OpenNebula 6.0 Workshop” in the email subject.
