In this 90-minute workshop, we’ll have the opportunity to discuss problems with the everyday operations of an OpenNebula cloud. This session is recommended for OpenNebula administrators that want to share and learn the following with their peers and the OpenNebula Dev team:
– User Workflows, for example: registration of new users, VM provisioning policies, quota usage...
– Image management, upgrade, patching
– OpenNebula deployment: installation, upgrade packaging
– Operating at scale
– Database housekeeping and best practices
– Provisioning interfaces for your users: Sunstone vs CLI vs API
– HA setups
– Administration of federated OpenNebula
– Security policies and best practices
– Performance tuning of KVM hypervisor
Each topic will be discussed with other admins that will share their view as well as OpenNebula Systems team members.
Discussion topics can be presented on the fly but you are encouraged to send a topic beforehand so we can share a topic list before the session. To facilitate the presentation of your topic you can prepare 2 slides:- Use Case: Brief description of the topic you want to address, What is useful for? What use cases are you addressing in your organization? What are the problems of functionality gaps you are addressing?...
- Your Solution: How are you solving the problem? Can a new feature relieve your pain? Are there any aspects still to be solved?
Please send your ideas or any other suggestions to events@opennebula.systems identifying the “Operations and Administration Workshop” in the email subject.
